March

Holy crap… So much has been going on that I’ve had a hard time keeping up with it all!

The book came in in November. It is…gorgeous. I’m so proud.

And I had another request for interview and pictures for another book coming out in November 2014. That request got me to thinking… other people are profiting off the images of my designs…why can’t I? I want to do my own book. So… the plotting for that has begun.

Alongside the plotting for my own book, I’m looking at doing a very large, very well put together fashion show right here in my home town. The plans for it are there in my head and have already been researched through. They just need to be borne now, come to fruition and success! Ahh…time and money are needed yes… but all things come to those who wait, right?

I’ve been working on a wedding dress for a client, and as such haven’t had a lot of space to work on my other collections at the moment. As a result, my creativity built up to the point of explosion. Luckily for me, the explosion caused this:

Not only did it cause that: His name is Silas and he is a Grifficentacorn Storyteller. But it caused a number of similar little personas to appear beneath my fingers. To date, I’ve completed 11 of them!  I’ve even opened an Etsy.com store. You can find it here: https://www.etsy.com/ca/shop/SpyderDesigns?ref=si_shop

To say the least, life has been very interesting. There are other things on the go besides the book and the fashion show. I’m looking at taking a trip to NYC, for the fashion experience, of course. Also, looking at going to The Grand Canadian Steampunk Exposition (https://www.facebook.com/CanadianSteampunk) – specially since I heard that Abney Park will be there.

All things considered, this year is looking filled to the brim with amazesauce. Now if only I could get the HOW figured out!!

Cheers!

Ongoing Opportunities

I’ve been receiving contact from many people regarding Fashion Shows, Movies and most recently the possibility of registering for the Metropolitan International Fashion Week in Miami, FL next year. It’s difficult to tamp down the excitement and sift through the information I need to go over before agreeing to any of these things. I’m so excited to see where Spyder Designs is going to end up!

Check out the website for my newest possible opportunity here!

Ryu-Kon 2013 was so much fun. The scale it was presented on was so small, though! I wish them all the luck in the future of their convention, but I want to see Spyder Designs presented large scale! Perhaps that start of that is MMIFW. Here’s hoping!
